Print Labs – Artwork Guidelines
Effective Date: July 2026
1. Recommended File Types
To achieve the best print quality, we recommend uploading one of the following file types:
- PNG (preferred for logos with transparent backgrounds)
- SVG (vector format)
- PDF (vector)
- AI or EPS (available on request)
- High-resolution JPG
2. Image Quality
For the best results, use high-resolution artwork. Avoid screenshots, blurry images or heavily compressed files. Wherever possible, artwork should be at least 300 DPI at the final print size. Low-quality artwork may produce blurry or pixelated prints.
3. Transparent Backgrounds
For logos and graphics, we recommend uploading PNG or vector files with transparent backgrounds for the cleanest print results.
4. Colours
The online design preview is a digital representation only. Printed colours may vary slightly due to monitor settings, garment material, printing processes and lighting conditions. Minor colour variations are considered normal.
5. Small Text & Fine Details
Very small text and fine lines may not reproduce clearly on fabric. As a guide, use a minimum text size of 8–10 pt and a minimum line thickness of approximately 1 mm where possible.
6. Copyright
Only upload artwork that you own or have permission to use. By uploading artwork, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to reproduce it. Print Labs accepts no responsibility for copyright or trademark infringement relating to customer-supplied artwork.
7. Design Preview
Our online design tool allows you to preview your customised product before placing your order. Please carefully review your spelling, colours, artwork placement, garment selection, sizes and quantities. By completing your purchase, you confirm that you approve the design exactly as shown in the online preview.
8. We Don’t Automatically Edit Artwork
Unless specifically requested as part of a design service, Print Labs prints artwork exactly as submitted. We do not automatically fix spelling mistakes, remove backgrounds, improve image resolution, recreate logos, adjust colours or reposition artwork.
9. Need Help?
If you’re unsure whether your artwork is suitable for printing, please contact Print Labs before placing your order. Our team is happy to help you prepare your files for the best possible print results.
